Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s isn’t offering shoppers a multi-buy offer on BBQ essentials.

However, shoppers can save a considerable amount on BBQ food by scanning their Nectar card at checkout.

For example, Sainsbury’s normally charges £5 for a pack of 10 to taste the difference in pork sausages.

But shoppers with a Nectar card can get the same pack of meat for just £3.33 – £1.67 less.

Nectar cardholders can also save 25p on a four-pack of the chain’s British beef steak burgers, which usually cost £6 – or £5.75 with Nectar.

Find your nearest Sainsbury’s supermarket by visiting www.stores.sainsburys.co.uk.

Tesco

Like Sainsbury’s, Tesco‘s best BBQ deals are reserved for those with a Clubcard.

For example, if you’re after burgers, the supermarket chain is selling a beer, burger and bun meal deal.

It means Clubcard shoppers can bag the following for just £8:

  • Tesco Finest 4 Brioche Burger Buns (retails at £1.35 separately) OR Tesco Finest 4 Brioche Sesame Seed Burger Buns (retails at £1.35 separately)
  • Corona Extra x4 330ml bottles (retails at £5.25 separately) OR Inch’s Medium Apple Cider Can 4x400ml (retails at £4.85 separately)
  • Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus 2 Beef Burgers 340g (retails at £4 separately)

Without a Clubcard, you’d pay up to £10.60 for each of these items separately.

Tesco also offers money off a host of other BBQ meats for Clubcard holders.

Shoppers can get two “Fire Pit” branded BBQ food items for just £6.

These items can cost up to £4.50 each, meaning if you bought two items under the deal, you’d save £3.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
