Man found wounded in Ayia Napa monastery, attacker arrested

A 23-year-old man was found with four open wounds at the Ayia Napa medieval monastery in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was transferred to the Famagusta general hospital in Paralimni where he was admitted to surgery, with his condition considered as serious.

Following police investigations, a 42-year-old man was found “walking suspiciously” near the medieval monastery, with a bloody knife in his hand.

He was arrested, and the police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
