UTPD searching for suspect after report of shots fired near LBJ library
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The University of Texas Police Department is investigating a report of shots fired, and a suspect was not found, the agency said on social media on Saturday.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., UTPD said it responded to the shots-fired call near East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Robert Dedman Drive. That's near the LBJ Presidential Library, which is set to host a presidential visit from President Joe Biden Monday.
Campus police later sent out an alert and described the suspect as a white man with long black hair. He was last seen wearing a white and black flannel shirt and a black backpack, according to UTPD. Anyone who sees him should call 911 and do not approach him.
UTPD previously told people nearby to the avoid the area and asked them to "please stay indoors as officers continue to investigate."
No other details were released Saturday.
