The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun seized the opportunity of the market sanitation exercise to emphasise the importance of maintaining a clean environment to safeguard public health among residents of the council.

She said: “We must take proactive measures to ensure our markets and surroundings are clean to prevent the spread of diseases such as cholera. Our collective efforts today demonstrate our commitment to the health and well-being of our residents and the entire Epe community”.

According to her, the active involvement of the youth of Epe and the support from the local government highlight the power of community collaboration. “We remain committed to continuing these efforts to ensure a safer and healthier environment for all”, Animashaun added.

The Coordinator of NYCN Epe, Moibi Ibrahim expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Youth Council for their hard work and dedication, saying “Your dedication and hard work in cleaning the market have made a significant impact”.

Ibrahim also appreciated Princess Surah Animashaun who played a pivotal role in the initiative, noting that her support, along with that of the HOD Environment Epe and his team, SSA to the Chairman of Epe LG on Special Duties, Comrade Ladele Ismail, and NYCN Lagos Treasurer, Comrade Ibrahim Ogunbanwo, was invaluable.

While highlighting the importance of continuous awareness efforts to prevent the community from falling victim to cholera, the Epe youth leader said, “This continuous exercise will ensure that we live in a clean and safe environment, preventing us from becoming victims of cholera disease”.
