Cody Gibbons Leads AWP Lumberjacks Past Marchio Sausage Co.

Cody Gibbons was dominant in the circle, as he rang up 11 strikeouts in AWP Lumberjacks’s 5-2 victory over Marchio Sausage Co. 18O on Friday. Cody Gibbons surrendered three hits and two runs over six innings while walking two.
AWP Lumberjacks opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth thanks to three doubles. AWP Lumberjacks first got on the board when Frank Kimlinger doubled, scoring one run.
Marchio Sausage Co. 18O scored two runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to right field by Oscar Sanchez.
Codi Pannebecker homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth for the AWP Lumberjacks.
Enrique Rodriguez began the game for Marchio Sausage Co. 18O. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and five runs over six innings, striking out 11 and walking four. Ryan French threw one inning of zero-run ball for AWP Lumberjacks in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
Codi Pannebecker provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led AWP Lumberjacks with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Codi Pannebecker and Frank Kimlinger each collected two hits for AWP Lumberjacks. AWP Lumberjacks worked the count all day, accumulating four walks. AWP Lumberjacks were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ivan Sacks had the most chances in the field with 12.
Oscar Sanchez, Mike Walker, and #2 each collected one hit for Marchio Sausage Co. 18O. Oscar Sanchez went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in. Marchio Sausage Co. 18O were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Justin Gonzalez made the most plays with two.
AWP Lumberjacks will travel to The Bar Buzz for their next game on Saturday.
