Police: Albany man arrested in N. Pearl Street shooting

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Albany Police arrested an Albany man on Saturday who they believe is the suspect of a domestic shooting on North Pearl Street. Police said Stanford Jones Jr., 20, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree assault.

According to police, at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, July 12, a shooting was reported at the 200 block of North Pearl Street. A 26-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his hand and was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through investigation, police found the suspect fled the scene in a car after getting into a physical fight. Troy Police arrested Jones and took him into custody after they located the vehicle that fled the scene on Congress Street in Troy. Jones was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Saturday.
