Stumptown Coffee's newest collab commemorates 15 years of LAIKA's 'Coraline'
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland-based coffee chain is partnering with LAIKA for the 15th anniversary of its most iconic film.
Stumptown Coffee announced the “Coraline Cold Brew,” a collaboration with the Hillsboro animation studio, earlier this week.
The limited-edition drink features the coffee brand’s popular nitro cold brew, and comes in a navy blue can inspired by the movie’s “fantastic garden” scene in which the main character is transported into an alternate universe.
The cold brew will be on sale throughout major grocery stores and select Stumptown Cafes across the Rose City, New York City and Pasadena, Calif. The cafes will also showcase art, artifacts and other menu items inspired by the film.
Fans can purchase other exclusive “Coraline” products including stickers, mugs and totes online.
In a statement, Stumptown Coffee Creative Director Hanna Boone said the brand and LAIKA “are kindred spirits with similar core values.”
“We believe in being the best in our crafts, pushing the limits when it comes to what we create and we both love our home base of Portland, Oregon,” Boone added. “Being able to collaborate to celebrate the continued success of ‘Coraline’ has been a creative dream and we are excited to have it come to life in our cafes and cans all over the country.”
A remastered 3D version of the film will return to theaters on Thursday, Aug. 15. Since its release, it has earned several trophies and nominations from the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Annie Awards.
