Pippa Middleton’s First Outing in Months Shows Her Wimbledon Style Is the Exact Opposite of Kate’s

0

Right now, everyone is talking about Wimbledon. “Who showed up? What did they wear? Will Kate Middleton be going this year, despite her ongoing cancer battle?” While we’ve already seen stars like Keira Knightley and Margot Robbie make appearances at Wimbledon in style, we need to talk about one other person’s style: Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton.

While we know Kate will be attending Wimbledon tomorrow, on July 14, Pippa also arrived to Wimbledon this week, making her return to the public eye after months away. When her sister Kate announced that she was diagnosed with cancer, Pippa stayed away from the spotlight, reportedly helping out her sister whenever she could, she disappeared from public events. (While she was pictured on vacay, Pippa’s last official appearance was on Dec 2023). And now, she’s back, showing off her Wimbledon style (and it’s the opposite of her sister’s go-to Wimbledon style).

In case you missed it, on July 12, 2024, Pippa arrived with her husband, James Matthews, on day twelve of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. You can see the photo below:

While many claim that Pippa and Kate are style twins, Pippa’s Wimbledon style says otherwise. For the 2024 Wimbledon event, Pippa opted for a wide-legged, floral-patterned jumpsuit, specifically the “Mimi” jumpsuit from the brand Claire Mischevani.

Truly, she looks stunning, and it reminds us of the pink floral dress she donned at the 2019 Wimbledon event. Not only that, this shows a bit of her Wimbledon style: often colorful and patterned. Pippa has been to the Wimbledon games since 2011, often wearing floral, striped, or even blocked-pattern looks. There have only been two times in 2011, once in 2013, once in 2017, and once in 2019; other than that, it’s always patterned. (Plus, she wore a designer Kate has never worn as a royal).

As for Kate, Kate often dons bold colors, but more simple dresses. Kate almost always goes for a dress, sometimes going for a skirted look.

Along with that, Kate does don simpler looks, but sometimes she shakes things up with her signature polka-dot looks.

(The only time she’s strayed from this pattern was three out of the 24 times she’s attended Wimbledon: once in 2015 with a Jonathan Saunders Midi-Dress, in 2016 with the busy Alexander McQueen dress, and once in 2017 with the floral Catherine Walker Dress.)

While Pippa and Kate are so much alike in other ways, it’s cool to see their distinct styles shine at Wimbledon.
