Fabrizio Romano reveals Spurs are in ‘regular contact’ agent of Premier League player
Fabrizio Romano has said that Tottenham Hotspur remain in regular contact with Pedro Neto’s representatives and could make a move for him if he is available for the right fee.
Neto continues to be linked with Tottenham
Tottenham are thought to be in the market for a wide player this summer, with Neto being one of the players most heavily linked with a move to the North London club over recent months (Sky Sports).
Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe also confirmed earlier this month that the Portugal international is one of the names at the top of the Lilywhites wishlist.
Meanwhile, multiple sources have continued to suggest that the 24-year-old is open to a new challenge this summer and is willing to consider offers to leave Molineux (Dharmesh Sheth –LWOS podcast).
However, Tottenham might not have a free run at the Wolves star, with TEAMtalk claiming earlier this week that Arsenal are also keen on securing the player’s services.
Tottenham are in regular contact
Romano has now said that Spurs’ move for Neto would depend on the price that the winger is available for this summer, with Ange Postecolgou‘s side unwilling to spend a ‘crazy’ fee on the former Braga man.
He told GiveMeSport: “They (Tottenham) are in regular contact with the agent of Pedro Neto. For Pedro Neto, it really depends on the fee.
“He had many injuries, so Tottenham would be happy to try again for Pedro Neto, but only in normal conditions, not crazy conditions. This is why it also depends on Wolves.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I think Tottenham will be hesitant to offer over £45m for Neto, given his injury record. Perhaps Spurs can work out some sort of compromise with Wolves by structuring a deal with plenty of appearance-based add-ons.
