Elephant Rumblings: 2024 MLB Draft begins Sunday
MLB news roundup
Happy Friday, Athletics Nation!
The A’s played a couple of competitive games against the Red Sox this week before laying a goose egg in yesterday’s series finale at Fenway that cost Oakland the series. Now it’s on to Philly for a three-game series against the Phillies, who currently own the best record in MLB and finished a sweep of the Dodgers yesterday. The boys in green and gold will need to bring their best, or it could be a long weekend.
There’s more excitement afoot on Sunday, when the 2024 draft begins at 7PM EST, and AN has some great coverage on tap.
The A’s have the fourth overall pick this year, their highest in over 25 years. Garrett Spain went in depth on the ten most promising draft prospects that might be available when the A’s turn comes.
On Sunday, Kris Willis will have Draft Day coverage for you, starting with a guide on how to follow the proceedings and continuing with open threads to enable robust discussion amongst community members on how things are going.
We all know that the hardest core of Athletics otaku hang out right here on AN, so this will be the place to be on Sunday. A splendid time is guaranteed for all! See you this weekend as the A’s take on baseball’s best and (hopefully) snag the right talent in the draft to shore up the team’s future.
