Dow Jones hurdles 40,000 level but falls just short of record high

NEW YORK, New York - U.S. stocks advanced on Friday with all the major indices notching up major gains. The Dow Jones came within a hair of notching up a new record closing high.

"The powerful growth story in AI has been all-consuming, but it's not the only story in the market," David Russell, global head of market strategy at TradeStation told CNBC Friday.

"Powell's testimony this week and the CPI report
