Bajan again on Olympics drugs panel

High-ranking Barbadian sports administrator Neil Murrell is the lone selectee from the Caribbean region appointed to the doping control process for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 12.

The experienced international doping control officer, who is the Director of Sport at the National Sports Council, was chosen from over 600 applicants worldwide.

It will be the third consecutive Olympic Games that Murrell will be performing a similar role after being chosen for the Rio Olympics in Brazil in 2016 and the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics which were held in 2022 in Japan.

Murrell’s selection is testament to the experience and skill garnered in Barbados and through other international anti-doping organisations since the doping control process at major games is generally a highly competitive affair.
