Police investigating homicide in north Austin
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is investigating the city's 33rd homicide of the year, which happened early Friday morning in north Austin.
APD said in a post on X at 4:59 a.m. the department was investigating a homicide in the 8200 block of Grayledge Drive. That area is just east of Interstate 35 and north of Highway 183.
Police said during a media briefing they responded to a "shoot/stab/hotshot" call at 4:02 a.m., and the caller said they located a victim with "apparent injuries."
APD said the victim was a man but did not have any other information.
Officers tried to save the victim's life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at 4:48 a.m. The nature of his injuries was unclear Friday morning.
APD said there is not yet a suspect in custody, and officers aren't sure if there is a connection between the suspect and victim.

The scene will remain active throughout the morning as officers investigate, according to APD.
