In a Reddit post, user Bellski05 broke down each step of her RAF dad’s shaving routine.

She tried out the technique after paying close attention to how her dad shaved his face during her childhood.

“I decided to try out a modified version of my dads face shaving routine but on my legs,” the poster wrote.

“My dad is a pilot and, from people I’ve told about this, apparently this is an Air Force shaving approach.”

For the first step, she applied shaving cream to her legs and filled up her sink with warm water.

“With each swipe of his face he’d rinse the blade in the water and continue on like that,” she explained.

“When he was done, he would just let the sink drain and it would take all the hair with the water.”

The Redditor revealed that she sat on her bathroom counter as she tried out the trick.

She also made a simple swap, opting for a popular beauty buy over shaving cream.

“I used coconut oil instead of shaving cream but to each their own,” she wrote.

According to the National Library of Medicine, there are several advantages to using coconut oil while shaving.

The medical experts reported that the product acts as an antibacterial protectant and antioxidant.

They added that the ingredient helps to reduce inflammation and repair the skin barrier.

She praised the low effort routine, explaining that she had previously struggled to carry out the task while showering.

“I got to shave my legs with a newfound sense of peace rather than my usual rush and dizziness,” she said.

More shaving tips

“I just sat there and took my time and made sure I didn’t miss any spots.”

The Redditor described the technique as “wonderful” and called it a “10/10 recommend.”

Reddit users shared their own shaving hacks for anyone with lower mobility in the comments section.

“That’s so smart! My hack is using a spray bottle and sitting on the toilet [with the] lid down and my leg propped up on something, we’ve got to find whatever works,” wrote one reader.

“For my legs, I get a cup and fill it with water, get a big towel and spread it out on my room floor,” explained a second person.

“Then [I] sit there and apply shaving cream and just dip the razor in the cup to rinse it off.”

“[I] highly recommend a shower chair. We can easily put mine in and out of the shower if I feel I can handle standing,” commented a third Redditor.
