1. Victim of Delaware Ave homicide identified by Albany Police

Albany Police have identified the victim of a homicide on Delaware Avenue as 21-year-old Davyjian Grier. Police said the homicide happened on Tuesday around 5:10 p.m.

2. Rensselaer man admits to rape and murder of 3-year-old

A family member of the three-year-old girl killed in Rensselaer County last year reacted to the suspect’s guilty plea. The district attorney’s office announced Tuesday, 34-year-old Robert Fisher admitted to the brutal murder.

3. GE Vernova to invest $22M in Schenectady facility

GE Vernova is planning on adding over 150 new jobs at its Schenectady facility with a $22 million investment, the company announced on Wednesday. The investment will allow the facility to manufacture new advanced generators.

4. Rensselaer County Legislature calling for closure of Dunn Landfill

The Rensselaer County Legislature is asking the state to shut down the Dunn Construction and Demolition Landfill (Dunn Landfill). Despite the expiration of Dunn Landfill’s operating permit two years ago, the facility continues to operate close to the Rensselaer City School District and the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in East Greenbush.

The 31st annual Siro’s Cup took place Wednesday night to benefit the Center for Disability Services Foundation. The event serves as the kickoff to the Saratoga horse racing season, which begins on Thursday.
