Among the cast, comedian and actress Tiff Stevenson appeared in an early episode as a character named Lorna.

She featured in a memorable scene opposite co-creator Ricky (as David Brent), Mackenzie Crook (who played Gareth Keenan) and Ralph Ineson (who played Chris Finch).

In the sequence, Lorna is at a nightclub with her friends when she is approached by David Brent and Chris Finch, who start chatting her up.

Despite Chris’ crude flirting style, it appears to do the trick as he and Lorna are later seen dancing together.

Taking to X, Tiff wrote: “23 years ago today The Office aired and fortunately I haven’t aged a single day and neither has @ralphineson but then again he is a Marvel villain…”

Fans were quick to share their enthusiasm in the comments section, as one penned: “How sweet. Must have been a fantastic experience filming.”

Another commented: “Right up there with the best comedies of all time. It’s a toss up between The Office, Phoenix Nights and Only Fools and Horses…”

A third remarked: “That nightclub sequence is possibly the funniest six or seven minutes of TV ever.”

Tiff’s scene partner Ralph Ineson also chimed in to say: “I prefer ‘Cosmic God’”.

To which the comedian replied: “course you do! I’ll reserve judgement until I see the costume in full screen glory. It’s very exciting TBH.”

Aside from The Office, actress Tiff took part in ITV reality show Show Me the Funny, placing third.

She is also a regular co-host of satirical news podcast The Bugle, which was created by John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman in 2007.

Her other television appearances include People Just Do Nothing, GameFace and Slotherhouse.

As for The Office, the mockumentary’s success spawned several adaptations around the world.

Perhaps most notably, the long-running American counterpart (2005-2013) on NBC.

This version starred an ensemble cast and lasted for nine seasons.

Executive producer Ricky Gervais returned for a cameo in one scene, in which he met his US counterpart Michael Scott – played by Steve Carell.

The Office is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
