A WOMAN who fell pregnant aged 13 has recalled some of the awful things people said to her at the time.

Meg had no doubt when she found out she was expecting that she’d be keeping the baby.

Meg took to TikTok to share a video of herself as she reflected on the things she was told when she fell pregnant at 13

However, not everyone was on board – as she explained in a video on her TikTok page.

“Me at 13 – ‘I’m pregnant and I’m keeping the baby‘,” she wrote over the top of the clip.

But the comments from others included “You’re far too young”, “You’re going to ruin your life” and “You will regret it later in life”.

One person even told Meg: “You’re better off getting rid”.

“Seven years later,” she wrote over the top of the clip, which then showed son Teddie as he is now – seven years old and clutching his baby sister Ivy.

“7 years later & we have proved everyone wrong my boy!” she added in the caption.

“Omg megan I remember all the hate now look at you!” one person commented on the video.

“So proud of you girl!”

“Parenting isn’t easy,” another added.

“Well done for you proving it’s a matter of maternal instincts and not age!

“I was 17 when I fell pregnant with my 1st and I got all the looks and comments too.”

“Do I think it’s young? Yes! Am I one to judge? No!!!!” a third commented.

“Am I glad you came out on the other side and survived it – absolutely parenting ain’t easy.

“Hats off to you girl – go live that life.”

“Thank you so much! means a lot!” Meg replied.

“I lost many people, including family members but it was all worth it for him.”

“You was always meant to have Ted,” another added.

UK Teen Mum Statistics

Teen pregnancies in the UK have been decreasing considerably since 2007...

The under-18 conception rate has decreased considerably since 2007, reports Nuffield Trust.

Between 2007 and 2021, the under-18 conception rate in England and Wales decreased by 68%, from 42 per 1,000 women to 13 per 1,000 women.

This resulted in 13,131 under-18 conceptions in England and Wales in 2021.

With Meg responding: “I agree. I’m sure of it.”

In another video on TikTok, Meg explained some of the things she loved about being a teen mum, including being able to “explore” with her son, and getting to see him “smile doing the things you love”.

“I get to see you succeed in your goals in life,” she continued, adding that she loves being the “fun mum”.

“I get to see you become the best big brother you could ever be,” she concluded.
