'So totally unfair': Whining Trump randomly lashes out at hush money trial judge

Donald Trump, former president and convicted felon, randomly lashed out at the judge overseeing his historic criminal hush money trial Wednesday.

Trump attacked New York City Justice Juan Merchan one day before the former president was initially scheduled to face sentencing after being convicted on charges he falsified business records to conceal hush money payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

"I can’t believe that I am still under an Unconstitutional Gag Order by a Judge who truly HATES TRUMP," Trump wrote. "So totally UNFAIR. The whole system if RIGGED!"

Trump's angry message also comes days before the Republican National Convention launches in Milwaukee, where the former president will likely gain his party's nomination.

The former president has repeatedly argued his limited gag order is unconstitutional, but that argument did not hold up in court, specifically the New York appeals court that found "there was no substantial constitutional question directly involved."

What has held up is Trump's challenge to his federal election interference case on the grounds of presidential immunity.

Specifically, the Supreme Court ruled earlier this month Trump enjoyed immunity when he pressured the Justice department to help him challenge the 2020 election results on baseless claims of fraud.

The ruling — condemned by dissenting Justice Sonia Sotomayor as a license for political assassinations — spurred Merchan to push back Trump's hush money trial sentencing until September.

Despite this leniency — not objected to by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg — Trump complained bitterly Wednesday of his treatment.

"Think of it," Trump wrote. "I am leading all comers, by a lot, for President of the United States, and I am still under an UNLAWFUL GAG ORDER. This is not AMERICA!"
