“He was arrested by LAPD’s 77th Division.”
He was released on a $150,000 bail around 10 am.
“The family knew this was going to happen but needless to say, it is a very big shock,” a source close to the family told The U.S. Sun.
It is believed Nicolas Cage bailed his son out of jail.
A source with close knowledge of the situation confirmed to The U.S. Sun Weston’s arrest was in connection to an assault on his mom, Christina, in April.
Fulton posted a statement detailing the “horrific” April incident with her son.
“Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident,” Fulton said.
“On Sunday April 28, I was reached out to by several of Weston’s best friends for assistance because they were experiencing Weston in a mental-health crisis.”
When Fulton arrived she claimed she “acted swiftly to ensure Weston’s safety.”
“Upon my arrival, I was met by my son who clearly was in a state of a mental health breakdown, which in turn became a horrific experience,” she continued.
“I have always supported helping my son with mental-health struggles.”
“I am doing all I can to get him the continued support he needs.”
Police claimed that Weston got into a verbal argument with the actress prior to the alleged assault, which left her covered in bruises, People reported.
LAPD confirmed to People that a battery report was taken at the time of the incident.
This morning’s arrest isn’t Weston’s first.
In 2017, the son of the National Treasure actor was arrested for a DUI and a hit-and-run.
Weston, who was 26 at the time, was arrested for driving under the influence, People reported.
Police said he hit several signs, parked cars, and mailboxes before crashing into a tree.
The police were first called to the scene after Weston allegedly fled the scene of a separate accident which occurred a mile away.
After being examined at a hospital, he was charged with a DUI and arrested on a $30,000 bail.
Weston made headlines in 2011 after he faced domestic violence charges following a dispute between him and now ex-wife Nikki Williams, ABC News reported.
