Warren Co. launches transparent digital budget book
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Warren County is creating a digital budget book to provide more transparency about residents' county tax dollars. The book will live on the county's website and provide a user-friendly platform for residents to track county spending.
The new digital book will replace paper copies printed each fall by the county, which is possible because of a partnership between Warren County and ClearGov of Massachusetts. The book is accessible on the county website and includes context and comments from county officials about budget data.
Warren County Board of Supervisors Chairman Kevin Geraghty said taxpayers will better understand how the county uses their money with the digital budget book. "Municipal budgets can be difficult to comprehend, with complicated codes and page upon page of numbers and figures, and this digital budget book will make it easier for the public to track county spending," Geraghty said.
Anyone interested in learning about the 2025 budget process or have suggestions about the digital budget book's accessibility can email the Assistant to the County Administrator, Tammie DeLorenzo, at delorenzot@warrencountyny.gov. The 2025 budget will be published at the end of the year.
