Florida Abortion Activists Raise $38 Million to Pass Amendment for Abortions Up to Birth
NRL News Today has posted and reposted a number of stories about Florida’s “Amendment 4,” exposing it for the dangerous, ambiguous, and deceptive amendment that it is. It would enshrine abortion in the state Constitution.
Florida Right to Life is part of a broad-based coalition fighting Amendment 4. Florida RTL writes
The language is as follows: “No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patients’ health, as determined by the patients’ health care provider.”
If passed, all commonsense laws designed to protect women and children would be nullified. Parental consent would be tossed, and many girls would be victimized.
Health care standards for women and girls would be erased, and painful late term abortion would be allowed up to the moment of birth!
Non-physicians could perform abortions and no matter what Harm befalls women they would have zero recourse.
CBS Florida ran a story today about “The Floridians Protecting Freedom” political committee, the force behind the proposed constitutional amendment, updating its fund-raising efforts to date. It reads
TALLAHASSEE – A political committee leading efforts to pass a constitutional amendment on abortion rights raised $293,008 from June 22 through June 28 as it continues gearing up for an election battle.

The Floridians Protecting Freedom political committee had raised a total of $38.271 million since being formed in spring 2023, while spending about $22.729 million. Much of the spending went to collecting and verifying petition signatures to put the proposed amendment on the November ballot.
Amendment 4 would appear on the November ballot and reads, in part, that no “law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.” [Emphasis added.] This is the standard catch-all wording that invalidates any and all pro-life protections.
Amendment 4 would need approval from 60% of voters to pass.
