Aadhaar-based eKYC of LPG customers underway to weed out bogus users

State-owned oil companies in India are using Aadhaar-based eKYC authentication to eliminate fake LPG customers, preventing commercial misuse of cylinders. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri confirmed the process has been in place for over 8 months, responding to concerns of inconvenience raised by the Kerala Assembly's Leader of the Opposition. Delivery personnel are verifying credentials using mobile apps, with no deadline set for the process.
