Dem operative scolds media for ignoring Trump's health because he's 'tanner and louder'
Former Hillary Clinton adviser Philippe Reines on Wednesday scolded the mainstream press for obsessively focusing on the mental acuity of President Joe Biden while giving a pass to former President Donald Trump, who is only three years younger and who regularly goes off on meandering tangents about shark attacks.
During an appearance on CNN, Reines argued that there was seemingly nothing that President Biden could do to change the media narrative about his age short of "being on stage for four hours doing pushups."
He then contrasted this with how the media has regularly glossed over concerns about Trump's mental and physical health over the years.

"When you were in the White House, Donald Trump just disappeared on Saturday afternoons and went to Walter Reed [Memorial Hospital], didn't explain why he was going, didn't brief after, his doctor never really explained why," he said. "And I don't remember this kind of frenzy. Because he's louder and tanner, we assume he's saner and healthier, and that is really a double standard!"
He then suggested that the reason that voters have more consistently expressed concerns about Biden's age has been that "there's been no coverage of note on Donald Trump" and his age.
"He's tanner and louder," Reines emphasized.
