Lionel Messi’s REACTION After Argentina Beat Canada in Copa America 2024
New Jersey: Lionel Messi, who has not been in the best of goal-scoring form, found the back of the net in the semi-final of Copa America 2024 versus Canada. Messi scored his first goal of the tournament in the 51st-minute to help Argentina double their lead. Following the win, an ecstatic Messi said he is enjoying his ‘last battles’ with the Albiceleste.
“It is not easy to be in another final, to compete again to be champions, what we are achieving is very difficult and we have to take advantage of it. It is not easy to do this and we are doing it again,” he said after the 2-0 victory over Canada .
“It’s crazy what this group did, what the national team is doing. After this, much more importance will be given to all the finals that I and all the players from the old team played in ,” he added.
Asked about his future with the Albiceleste, Messi said: “I am living it like the last half, the last World Cup. I am aware, as is the case with Otamendi, Di María and myself, that these are the last battles and we are enjoying them to the fullest.”

Messi’s Argentina started their semi-final against Canada as a favourite and they lived up to the billing. Argentina will now feature in the summit clash in Miami on Sunday where they lock horns with the winner of Colombia and Uruguay.
