Federal NTSB report finds East Palestine, Ohio derailment preventable, “vent and burn” unnecessary

While the NTSB made several important safety recommendations, the agency has no enforcement powers, and most of the recommendations will not be enacted by Congress, whose members receive millions of dollars in lobbying funds from the railroads.
