WELCOME, JAKE NICHOLSON!

Raith Rovers Football Club is delighted to confirm 18-year-old Jake Nicholson as our first ever Raith Rovers Community Club signing.

Technical Director John Potter said, “Jake has been with us in and out for over a year. He’s always done well to improve throughout his time with us and we felt that he deserved the opportunity to earn a full-time contract and come in and show us what he’s all about. We’re proud that Jake is our first ever Community Club signing and look forward to this being the start of a strengthened pathway.“

Jake started kicking a ball from the minute he could walk and never left the house without one.

He started his football journey at five-years old, when he joined a team called LKB, before moving onto Lomond Colts.

When Jake was eight, he was picked up by a Hearts scout and asked to attend a trial.

While he trained with Hearts, he continued to play locally for Blue Brazil as he developed as a player.

He signed a pro-youth contract when he was ten and spent a few years at the Edinburgh side.

With trying to balance travelling and school, Jake decided to take a step back and go back to playing locally for Inverkeithing United, before once again being looked at for a pro-youth contract.

Dundee signed him up and he played there for a couple of years before joining the Raith Rovers Community Club.

Since being a part of the Community Club, Jake was noticed early on by John Potter as a hot prospect for the future.

He featured in last year’s pre-season matches, as well as in bounce games throughout the season. This year, he was on the bench for Saturday’s friendly at East Fife and has been training every day with the team.

Jake now joins Raith Rovers Football Club on a one-year deal.
