Exchange prices fall as power demand subdues with monsoon onset

Power prices in the day ahead market in New Delhi have dropped due to rain, reducing electricity demand. The average price on the IEX between June 27 and July 7 was Rs 4.3 per unit, down 22% from earlier. Despite maintenance shutdowns, power availability meets demand. Increased trading volume is witnessed with lower prices.
