Western Lake Erie algal bloom has already grown to 160 square miles, NOAA says

The 2024 western Lake Erie harmful algal bloom has quickly grown to 160 square miles, with the worst concentration just south of Monroe, according to satellite imagery released Monday by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
