It was 117 degrees in Arizona this weekend – people say it’s ‘not fit for humans’ when they see the effect on my blinds

A HOMEOWNER was left blindsided by the heatwave that wreaked havoc on his blinds.

It seemed that no one – and nothing – was safe from the stifling summer temperatures.

Redditor Deliciousking99 shared an image of his melting shades which were no match for the brutal heat.

“One hundred and seventeen degrees in Arizona today. Melted the blinds in my house,” he said.

The blinds looked to be disappearing, almost as if they would soon be a pool of liquid.

Others were also shocked by the effect the heat had on the shades.

“I think Arizona may not be fit for human habitation. Let it be home to Kari Lake and the other lizard people,” said one user.

As it turns out, they aren’t completely wrong.

A heat index of anywhere between 105 and 129 degrees can signal serious health risks according to the Arizona Department of Health Services.

This can include things like heat cramps, sunstroke, and heat exhaustion.

They recommend staying indoors, avoiding outdoor activities, and staying hydrated.

And of course, adequate air conditioning is essential.

Others were still in shock over the damage.

“That’s horrifying,” said one user.

“Yes, but the alternative is outside. Gasp,” a Redditor commented.

“The blinds melted inside. Like hell I’m going outside!” another chimed in.

“I’m replacing all my blinds with curtains now,” said another.

Others shared their own tricks.

“Home Depot and Lowe’s sell DIY home window tint kits that work pretty well too,” wrote a Redditor.

“Takes a bit of practice to install well, but it’s worth it in my opinion. Every bit helps,” they continued.

“I’m sorry to hear about the blinds, they look wrecked. I recently bought some UV film off of Amazon for my windows and I have to say I feel a difference,” said another.
