Man arrested for smashing car window after dog run over

A 29-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after smashing the rear windscreen of a car which had run his dog over.

The man was walking his dog off its leash in the Kyrenia district village of Ayios Georgios when it was run over.

The dog died of its injuries and the man reportedly at this point became irate, shouting loudly at the driver of the car and hitting the car’s rear windscreen with his fist, causing it to smash.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
