Disappointment, resentment for National Rally after French election defeat

France's far-right National Rally (RN) leader Jordan Bardella said on Sunday France had been "thrown into the hands of the far-left" after a bitterly disappointing election for his party. Nevertheless, the RN doubled its number of MPs and will now set its sights on the 2027 presidential election.
