She has revealed the scary kidnapping situation that can occur when ordering taxis and Ubers – but you can avoid it if you’re savvy.

“Whether you’re in a taxi or an Uber, never ever allow your kids to be last out of the vehicle,” she said.

“This is especially important if you’re on vacation or in a foreign country.

“Never give someone the ability to drive off with your child still in the vehicle.

“Even if it means your kids have to crawl over you to get out of the car first, make sure they’re doing so.”

The criminologist urged people to “always practise situational awareness”, particularly when children are involved.

“When I was little (and even a young teen), my mum got out first,” she added.

“Then my dad would lead me to my mum and get out right behind me.

“It’s a very simple thing to do that can become second nature, protect your child and make it so they’re not an easy target.”

Dannah shared the advice in a now-viral Instagram reel.

“I’ve never even considered that as an issue,” Lee Garrett commented.

“Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

“I will try to remember and put this into place whenever possible.”

“This is so so important,” Adia Rezzini added.
