Minor arrested for drugs, banned knife

A 16-year-old has been arrested to facilitate questioning regarding the illegal possession of drugs, obstruction of police duty and bearing a knife.

Paphos police chief Michalis Nicolaou said that at 10.20pm on Sunday night policemen stopped the 16-year-old, who was on foot.

The minor is reported to have pushed a policeman in his effort to flee and was arrested.

The police found a prohibited type 8.5cm penknife, 2.5gr of cannabis and precision scales.

The minor was questioned, charged in writing and released due to his age.

He will be summoned later.
