Albany Police investigating Grant Avenue assault
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department is investigating an assault that happened in the area of Grant Avenue and Hunter Avenue on Sunday morning. Officers say they responded to the area around 2:40 a.m. following reports of the assault.
Police reported finding a 31-year-old man with a severe laceration to his neck upon arriving on the scene. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center and is in stable condition, according to police.
Through investigation, police learned there was a large gathering at a home on Grant Avenue resulting in a fight. It is alleged that the suspect threw a glass bottle at the victim.
Police say that two hours later they received notification from Albany Medical Center Hospital that a 19-year-old man entered the emergency room with an elbow laceration as well. Law enforcement determined that the victim had also been assaulted during the Grant Avenue incident.
