Blues sign Dewsbury-Hall

0

Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City. The midfielder joins for a reported £30m and has inked a six-year-contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge till the summer of 2030.

Dewsbury-Hall has been at Leicester since the age of eight and came through the youth ranks at the King Power Stadium. He had a couple of loan stints- one with Blackpool in League One and the other with Luton in the Championship, but has been a first-team regular for the Foxes in recent seasons.

The 25-year-old made 49 appearances for Leicester last season in the Championship and scored 12 goals as they earned promotion to the Premier League. The transfer re-unites Dewsbury-Hall with Enzo Maresca, the Italian who managed him at Leicester but is now in charge of affairs at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester were reluctant to let Dewsbury-Hall go, but had to allegedly sanction the transfer to comply with the league’s PSR rules.

Dewsbury-Hall becomes the fourth new arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer after Tosin Adarabioyo (from Fulham), Omari Kellyman (from Aston Villa) and Marc Guiu (from Barcelona).

Chelsea will begin the 24/25 season with a tough home clash against defending champions Manchester City.
