President Emomali Rahmon emphasizes development of China-Tajikistan-Afghanistan transport corridor
President Emomali Rahman of Tajikistan has emphasized that the development of transport corridors between China, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan will enhance regional connectivity and trade.
According to reports, President Rahman made these remarks on Monday, July 7, during a press conference following his meeting with Xi Jinping, the President of China.
He advocates for practical steps towards building road and rail routes along the China-Tajikistan-Afghanistan transport corridor. Mr. Rahmon has highlighted the construction of the “Kulyab-Khorog-Rushan” regional border road, noting its role in strengthening the transit corridor linking China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey.
However, during this meeting, President Rahmon and President Xi Jinping also called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
Xi Jinping, the President of China, concluded his official visit to Tajikistan yesterday, July 6. He emphasized that during this visit, the leaders of China and Tajikistan held a historic meeting that will guide a new era of comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Tajikistan, China, and Uzbekistan have fostered close economic and trade relations with Taliban officials in the past two years.
Meanwhile, President Emomali Rahmon’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity through infrastructure development underscores Tajikistan’s strategic vision for economic integration with China and Afghanistan.
