Report: Club have one ‘trump card’ in their attempts to sign Tottenham player

According to a report in Sabah, Fenerbahce have not given up on their pursuit of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with the club soon expected to reach out to Tottenham over the midfielder.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray both like Hojbjerg

Several Turkish outlets have reported this summer that Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both keen on securing Hojbjerg’s services this summer.

This includes a report by Takvim, who claimed last month that the two Istanbul clubs are ready for a ‘transfer war’ over the experienced star.

According to Sabah’s latest update, the two clubs continue to circle over the Denmark international, with Fenerbahce, having identified the player as a player as a ‘priority target’.

Mourinho could be crucial in Hojbjerg pursuit

The report adds that the Yellow Canaries are aware of Hojbejrg’s intention to leave Spurs and they have one ‘big trump card’ up their sleeve – Jose Mourinho.

We know that Hojbjerg is quite close with Jose but I do not see the 28-year-old moving to Turkey at this stage of his career.

He can still play for a top side and he will likely be eyeing a move to Spain or Italy this summer.
