The woman shared her tinted sunscreen hack on Reddit’s Beauty forum, which has over 921,000 members.

POWERFUL PRODUCTS

She spoke candidly about how she came up with the idea as she revealed the product that she uses for it.

“I’m embarrassed how long it took me to figure out that I can mix my sunscreen and foundation together for a sheer look,” she said, writing under the handle Nutlina.

“Tinted sunscreen shades have always been a little orange or just ‘off’ on my skin tone.

“What’s funny is I’ve done this with moisturizer but for some reason never thought of alternating with sunscreen.

“So far I’ve only tried using Biore Aqua as a base but I’m curious if it works with others.”

Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 30 is available from Amazon for $14.99.

It has been formulated with hyaluronic acid to keep skin moisturized for up to eight hours while also protecting from UV rays.

The Redditor revealed how she used the product in her makeup routine to achieve her desired look.

“Method: I applied a normal amount of sunscreen first and let it set, then added a little more on my palm and mixed in a drop of foundation,” she said.

“Then added a tiny bit more foundation in spots to conceal.

“I am floored with how the texture and color turned out! So ready for summer.”

MAKEUP MANIA

Despite having not revealed which foundation she used, beauty fans were amazed by the hack and eager to try it for themselves.

“I’ve been wondering how to better factor in my SPF with my foundation,” one person said.

“Thank you so much for this! I am going to try it today.”

“Great idea!” another said. “I also love how you use a normal amount of sunscreen first before applying your sunscreen/foundation combo.

“Perfect way to make sure you’re not cutting your SPF in half.”

“I mix tinted sunscreen with white cast sunscreen until I get a shade I like,” a third chimed in.

“There’s also bronzing drops. I have the same issue with pre-tinted sunscreens turning too orange but honestly mixing it down with white is perfect for me.”

New York-based dermatologist Dr. Lian Mack has shared his opinion on the trend of mixing sunscreen with other beauty products.

He told Makeup.com that it’s better to layer sunscreen before moisturizer or makeup rather than mixing them.

“Mixing the two may alter the properties of the SPF, making it less effective,” he said.
