0

The final results of Iran’s presidential election announced this morning, Saturday, July 6th, show that Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian has garnered 16 million and 384 thousand votes, which accounts for 53.6% of the total votes.

Saeed Jalili, Mr. Pezeshkian’s electoral rival in this round of Iran’s presidential elections, secured 13 million and 538 thousand votes, constituting 44.3% of the total votes.

Consequently, Masoud Pezeshkian will officially take the oath of office as the next President of Iran in the coming days.

The result shows that Masoud Pezeshkian has won the presidency with 53.6% of the votes, surpassing his closest rival, Saeed Jalili.

The election results indicate a significant voter turnout despite widespread concerns over the disqualification of many candidates by the Guardian Council, which oversees the elections’ eligibility criteria.

In his victory speech, Masoud Pezeshkian pledged to address economic challenges and improve living standards, focusing on national unity and combating corruption.

The newly elected president is expected to take office in the coming days, succeeding Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash in May.

Pezeshkian’s election is critical for Iran, which is grappling with economic sanctions and regional tensions, including tensions with Israel.

The international community will closely watch Pezeshkian’s presidency for potential shifts in Iran’s domestic policies and its foreign relations strategy, particularly regarding nuclear diplomacy and regional stability.
