IJ Spring Players of the Year: Diamond Certified

The Marin IJ takes a look back at some of the spring season’s highlights with the top players of the year, selected by coaches and staff. Marin County’s high school athletes raised the bar this past season in their pursuit of excellence. San Rafael softball ended a 20-year drought by claiming the MCAL crown and then advanced the NorCal regionals. Redwood baseball had an amazing playoff rivalry with Cardinal Newman, as they met in the finals of the North Coast Section Division II and NorCal D-II tournaments. The NorCal baseball brackets also included NCS D-III champion San Marin and NCS D-V winner Branson. Redwood girls and Marin Catholic boys both brought home NCS lacrosse titles. Marin athletes had some outstanding individual efforts that ranked them among the best in the state. See pages C4-5.
