'All around loser': Trump-loving boxer yanked from ring for racist ravings

There's not much difference between a typical MAGA influencer and the right-wing, former champion boxer expelled this week by the World Boxing Council for repeatedly hurling racial slurs against Black people and disparaging Muslims, a new editorial contends.

That's according to Ja'han Jones, a futurist writer for MSNBC's The ReidOut Blog, who wrote Friday about Ryan Garcia's expulsion from the boxing organization.

"The ties that bind Garcia to Trump’s movement are abundantly clear," he said. "And the boxer’s racist remarks and embrace of QAnon-adjacent conspiracies make him virtually indistinguishable from many other Trump-supporting MAGA influencers."

Jones' comments come after Garcia's expulsion Thursday came after a recording surfaced of him hurling racial obscenities in an X space with other people.

"I hate n------, I’m anti-black," he said with a laugh, later saying: "N---- I’m the KKK n----. I hate n-----."

Garcia eventually says: "Hey, let’s go bring George Floyd back to life and go kill that n----- again."

The comments also veered into anti-Muslim territory, with Garcia reportedly saying, “F--- all you Muslims that rape little kids.”

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, said Thursday he was exercising his authority in expelling Garcia from the organization.

"We reject any form of discrimination," he wrote on X. "I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse."

Last month, Garcia, 25, was suspended a year after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine, retroactive to his April 20 win over Devin Haney. That match was overturned to a no-contest.

Garcia appeared to link two failed steroid tests to his endorsement of Trump.

"I’m seen with Trump and now I’m positive for steroids," Garcia wrote in May. "This is a straight attack."

The internet relentlessly mocked the MAGA boxer on X

"MAGA self-destruction is the BEST," wrote @thetonymichaels.

"Ended his career? Have we not seen this play before? He'll be a guest speaker at the Republican Convention and make regular appearances on Newsmax," said @HalforNY__.@Kentucky_Sparky.

"Ryan Garcia’s boxing career was already over," added @Kentucky_Sparky. "Like Scott Baio, Roseanne Barr, Rob Schneider and Kevin Sorbo, he’s attempting to become an MAGA darling by tapping into racism and xenophobia."

"Apparently Garcia was already suspended by another athletic commission, in June," said @JevieDem4FL. "An all around loser."

"Not every conservative is a racist, but only MAGA consistently attracts people like this," said @jess_starlinz.
