Comedian Tony Knight Dead at 54 After 'Terrible Accident' Involving a Tree Branch
Comedian Tony Knight has tragically died at the age of 54.
The U.K.-based comedian was involved in a tragic accident that occurred on June 7 at the Rock&Cars festival in Lavaur, France.
Two branches from a large tree broke off and fell on festivalgoers, including Tony. He was killed and four others were injured.
“Many witnesses present at 6 p.m. recount the sound of the branches cracking and the screams and then the arrival of help,” a French media outlet, according to People. “Many say they were shocked to have witnessed this scene and some explain that they had been sitting at the site of the accident a few minutes before.”
Tony‘s sister-in-law Jo launched a GoFundMe to support his widow Hayley. She wrote on the page, “[Tony] was only 54 and having the time of his life. He was fit, healthy, happy and had everything going for him.”
