Police repatriates 145 third-country nationals in a week
A total of 145 persons have been repatriated or deported during the last week, in the context of voluntary and mandatory repatriations of third-country (non-EU) nationals, it emerged on Friday.
Since last Friday, police has arrested 47 individuals for illegal stay in Cyprus and launched procedures for their repatriation or deportation, according to a police announcement.
Furthermore, in checks carried out on Friday across Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos led to 13 arrests.
Police stressed that it continues to focus its efforts aiming at maximising the number of repatriations of third-country nationals, in cooperation with other competent government services.
