I ditched foam and shave using kitchen staple – I never get razor burn, it’s not even greasy and my blades last longer

They said they’ve been using their special approach to shaving for the past two years.
Not only has the technique left them with smoother legs, it’s also cheaper for them.
They went as far as to say that they’re not going back to traditional store-bought shaving cream.
WHAT DO THEY USE?
The Redditor revealed that they use a common kitchen staple for hair-free legs.
“For the last two years, I have been shaving using olive oil instead of shaving foam/gel,” they wrote.
“Not only is it easier to shave since I can see where the blade is going, [but] my skin has never felt better.
“Smooth, less spots, moisturized, and no razor burn whatsoever.
“Olive oil is not greasy by the way, it absorbs into your skin.
“It keeps my razor sharp, too. I change it significantly less.
“I wash it and then push it into my palm where I poured the oil in. It coats and protects it.
“It’s so good, I wouldn’t even consider going back to the chemical stuff.”
They specified that they don’t shave in the shower and they use olive oil from the supermarket.
They also added that the technique saved them money because they typically have olive oil on hand for cooking.
CROWD REACTION
Several Redditors chimed in to give their two cents on the olive oil shaving technique.
“All shave cream is used for is to lubricate your skin to allow the blade to slide,” one wrote. “Great tip.”
“It will still damage your skin,” said another, who wasn’t as convinced.
“The underlying issue is that the oil puts the composition of your hair follicle, skin, and pores into imbalance. Think of a follicle of hair microscopically.
“The hair shaft itself is scaled. Oil does not wash easily from inside of the hairs, leading to oxygen deprivation, which in turn leads to lack of growth or uneven growth.
“Not only is oil bad for your hair itself, but also for your skin. Excess oil can penetrate the pores which leg hairs grow from and lodge inside the sebaceous gland.
“Heavier oils clog pores with bacteria and dead skin, leading to pimpled skin.”
