The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Friday 5 July 2024: Seven day outlook for Sydney
TG said hey look at this.. then he lost what he was going to show me. I said what was it? He said I found a thing called Special Character, which is me, so I thought you know…
That’s what we’re down to in this weather…
Today conditions on the coast were pretty ordinary, with a fresh BCW (Bloody Cold Wind) blowing from the SE. Out to sea the buoy was registering 2 metre 9 second swell, but waves were a lot smaller than that on open beaches and on protected. Waves in the wind were blugghh and waves out of the wind were blugh.. banks are NG ( No Good) in sheltered corners. One, no two people, out for a paddle for exercise I think.
The Surf Outlook...
If you really want to know, and you’re super keen, there are Pros and Cons for you to consider…
Let’s start with the Cons>>
- See above..
- Size looks like being generally smaller
- Water temp is close to max air temps.. which some of us find to be BC (work it out)
Pros>>
- Smaller waves might suit kids on school holidays and others,
- Light winds are forecast for several days and even sunshine on one
- You’re going to be really looking forward to that hot shower while you’re sitting out there on the water, in the light breeze
- You’re going to really enjoy that hot shower afterwards.
Your decision….
Saturday: around 1- 1+ metres South East
Sunday: around 1-1+ metres at places open to due South and nothing much at places that aren’t
Monday: ditto
Tuesday: ditto again
Wednesday: smaller, from the East
Thursday: around 1 ish metres East North East
Friday: similar, from the East.
Have Fun!
TG.
