ANT McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have shocked holidaymakers with a surprise appearance at a budget Spanish resort.

Presenters Ant and Dec, both 48, created a stir among Brit holidaymakers on Wednesday after being spotted at a budget family resort in Majorca.

Crowds gathered around the pool area, surprised that the multi-millionaires had chosen to holiday at the spot.

However, it turned out that they were actually filming a TV commercial for TUI holidays.

Ant and Dec spent several hours filming around the hotel – with guests informed that they were too busy to pose for individual photos.

However, the boys made a point to wave at the families and handed out high-fives to children who approached them.

Samantha McAdams witnessed the event and shared her experience with MailOnline.

She said, “Everyone was very excited to see them. They arrived on a transfer coach from Palma airport around lunchtime, passing by the pool at about 1:30 pm.”

The fashion retail manager added: “They were brilliant, exactly how you see them on the TV. They spoke to each of the children and they smiled the entire day.

“After they came out of the apartment they got in a golf buggy and drove around the resort with a few guests and asked them what they liked about the hotel, what food they liked, etc.

“They stayed until about 4pm and then they left. They must have been exhausted.”

Ant and Dec choked back tears as they wrapped their final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway earlier this year.

The show came to a close after a whopping 20 years.

Fans now believe the show will not return after spotting a key “clue.”

At the time, an emotional Declan told the live show audience: “We’ve truly adored every second . . .  what’s happened is beyond our wildest dreams.”

Ant then said: “This is the kind of show Dec and I watched every Saturday night growing up, so it’s been an honour and a privilege to have made this show and to have been part of your Saturday nights for over 20 years.”

Dec added: “When we started back in 2002, we thought we’d be lucky if we got to do this for a couple of years — what’s happened is beyond our wildest dreams.

“We’ve truly adored every second but there’s one thing we’ve never, ever forgotten and that’s the fact this isn’t our show — it’s your show.

“So we’d like to say a massive thank you to you, our incredible audience.”

Ant and Dec's incredible career

ANT McPartlin and Declan Donnelly met on the set of Byker Grove in 1990.

The two went on to have chart success under their characters’ names – including their 1994 No1 smash hit Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble.

They haven’t looked back since then, going on to present some of the most popular shows on TV.

Here’s a rundown of some of their most popular shows – plus one “dud”.
