Ville Platte man arrested after escaping from authorities multiple times
EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KLFY)-- After several different occasions of authorities attempting to capture a Ville Platte man who had felony warrants, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office finally arrested him, with the help of the the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Deputies first got a tip that Triston Vidrine was located at an address on Majic Lane in Pine Prairie, and after deputies saw Vidrine sitting in a truck on the property, they tried to arrest him. Vidrine sped away in the truck, and a high-speed chase ensued until they got to a wooded area in Easton where Triston exited the vehicle and was able to evade capture.
Multiple times, authorities tried to catch Vidrine, but failed after he would escape on foot into the woods. After agents with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries got a tip that Vidrine was hunting deer illegally in the Lake Cove area, they went to a home where he was staying in Lake Cove, but he once again fled in a truck and was unable to be captured.
EPSO soon learned from another tip that Vidrine was staying at a residence in Pitkin, and on June 29, he was arrested without incident.
Vidrine is being held with no bond and is being charged with two counts of flight from an officer, one count simple escape, one count of criminal trespass, one count of theft, one count of cyber stalking, one count of simple assault, one count of aggravated flight, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts possession of schedule I CDS, one count of Probation and Parole violation, and one count hunting and/or taking deer during closed season.
