A new contender has claimed the win at Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Championship!
The annual contest took place at Coney Island in New York City on the Fourth of July. This year, 16-time winner Joey Chestnut was banned from competing due to a conflict of interest stemming from a deal with another hot dog brand.
With him out of the way, a new winner ate 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes to secure the win. The next closest contender was over ten hot dogs behind.

According to People, Pat Bertoletti snagged the win with Geoffrey Esper landing in second place after eating 43 hot dogs.
Pat is taking home a $20,000 cash prize. As is the winner in the women’s competition – Miki Sudo. She managed 51 hot dogs.
While Pat had an impressive showing, he still failed to match Joey‘s win from last year when he ate 62 hot dogs.
