Kim Kardashian Criticizes Sister Khloé for FaceTiming Daughter True Instead of 'Being Present' on Vacation
Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian are still not seeing eye to eye on a parenting choice.
After the sisters’ spat on last week’s episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS maven and Good American co-founder remain in the thick of their disagreement about Khloé’s prioritization of her children, 6-year-old daughter True and 2-year-old son Tatum.
During this week’s episode, the two sisters were seen at a restaurant during their family trip to Aspen. In addition to Kim and Khloé, their mom Kris Jenner, her boyfriend Corey Gamble, and their younger sister Kendall Jenner were chatting at the table. During the conversation, Khloé FaceTimed her daughter to say goodnight, which annoyed her family members.
“I’m at a restaurant. You think I look funny? I’m wearing a furry hat,” Khloé said to True. The scene cut to a confessional taping with Kim, during which she voiced her frustration. “Here we go. She’s just so stuck on what’s going on at home that she can’t have a good time,” the elder sister began. “We don’t get to do this very often anymore. It’s really rare that we go on these family vacations and I just want Khloé to like, enjoy the dinner, enjoy the moment, be present with us now,” Kim said.
Kris echoed Kim’s annoyance in a confessional of her own, saying, “Okay Khloé, I love you and I’m not going to take sides, but Kim’s got a point. Get off your phone. We’re right here.”
Cutting back to the dinner scene, Khloé told True, “Okay, I love you. Who’s so cute?” While the mom of two was wrapping up her call, Kris quipped, “Bye, see ya, gotta go, bye.”
Khloé told her mom, “Just because you don’t want to call your kids to say goodnight… .” Kris replied, “I’m with my kids. We’re out at dinner. Come on.”
The Good American co-founder shared her thoughts on the spat in her own confessional. “Wait, I’m supposed to be more present, but Kim hasn’t looked up from her phone the entire dinner? She’s scrolling Instagram… Okay, I’ll be more present,” she said, noting the hypocritical irony of using her phone to check in with her kids versus Kim choosing to look at social media instead of “enjoying the moment.”
Khloé added, “This is why I don’t like to leave the gates [of my home] because I just feel like I get attacked every second of it, just immediately.”
During her fight with Kim before the vacation, Khloé told her sister she was wary of going on the trip because she had a feeling Kim was going to pick on her the whole time — and the Aspen excursion seems to have turned out exactly the way Khloé anticipated. While family members should be present on trips together, we have a hard time seeing why it’s so annoying that the mom of two would want to chat with her kids before they go to bed. Seems like the hallmark of a good mother, and we aren’t alone in the more forgiving POV.
