'Deadpool & Wolverine' Box Office Predictions Promise Big Things for Marvel, Movie Stands to Break Records!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has some good news to celebrate ahead of the release of Deadpool & Wolverine!

The expansive film franchise has been sparking some concerns lately amid misfiring projects that underperformed and received middling reviews.

However, the new project, which brings Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool into the MCU and reintroduces Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine, is shaping up to be a major success, according to box office predictions.

In fact, it even stands to break some records.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool & Wolverine stands to bring in $160 to $165 million domestically in its first weekend.

This would net the movie the largest opening weekend in the United States for the year. At the moment, the record is held by Inside Out 2, another project from Disney’s Pixar. (Speaking of, the animated movie just hit another big milestone, too!)

It would also be enough to earn the movie the best opening for an R-rated movie of all time. The outlet noted that this record is currently head by the original Deadpool, which opened to $133.7 million back in 2016.
